HOW WE CAME TO BE

Baking traditional family recipes in the kitchen with my Grandma as a child..My love of creating chocolates as a teen…Friends and family begging me to start a business and cater their events….that’s where it all started.

Melanie’s Country Confections grew from simple orders to owning and operating my own confectioner’s shop and selling in local retail shops in Roscoe, Illinois.

I relocated to Quincy and a short time later was again in search of a commercial kitchen. This was the birth of The Yum Factory. It’s more than a business. It’s my passion, my heart, and some very tasty chocolate. Though the store is not only chocolate. We also have custom cakes, decorated sugar cookies, an amazing line up of cupcakes and baked treats….but it doesn’t stop there….a full bar with chocolate pairings, specialty coffees, lotus energy drinks, appetizers, lunch items…and the list keeps going. Come in and see all we have to offer.
